Scope#
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all Accounts, Workspaces, Authorized Users, Inputs, prompts, Outputs, APIs, automations, and integrations that interact with Brownbox.
Brownbox may refuse, rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access; withhold or restore Generations per the Refund Policy; preserve evidence; and report to competent authorities where required by law.
In case of conflict on prohibited use, the stricter rule among this AUP, the AI Content Policy, and the Likeness & Model Policy applies.
Absolute bans (no generate / no host)#
- Any sexual, pornographic, or exploitative content involving anyone 17 or under, whether real or synthetic.
- Sexualisation of minors, including “aged-down” or “teen” framing of sexual content.
- Grooming, trafficking, or solicitation content involving minors.
- Commercial likeness of anyone under 18 in uploads or Outputs.
Zero tolerance. Report suspected CSAM to abuse@usebrownbox.com. We cooperate with competent authorities where required by law.
- Real or synthetic intimate imagery of a person without consent.
- “Undress,” “remove clothes,” or similar transforms targeting real people.
- Terrorism, violent crime, or other criminal offences under applicable law.
- Fraud instruments (fake IDs, forged documents intended for deception).
- Knowing trade in illegal products/services via generated creatives.
- Malware, phishing kits, or instructions primarily designed to cause severe harm.
Illegal or high-risk prompts and Outputs#
You may not submit prompts or publish Outputs that:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Deceptive commercial practices | Fake testimonials; AI images presented as real customer photos; fabricated reviews |
| False endorsements | Invented celebrity, influencer, doctor, regulator, or brand partnerships |
| Impersonation | Deepfakes of real public figures for deception; employee impersonation without authority |
| Counterfeit / IP theft | Presenting goods you are not authorised to market as authentic branded goods; knowing trademark counterfeiting |
| Protected characters / exact copies | Knowing recreation of copyrighted characters or near-identical protected compositions without licence |
| Hate / extremist propaganda | Content primarily intended to demean protected groups or promote extremist violence |
| Regulated deceptive claims | Medical cure claims, guaranteed financial returns, unsafe “before/after” without substantiation — used to mislead |
| Dangerous misuse scenes | Depicting unsafe use that would foreseeably encourage serious harm |
| Circumvention of safety labelling | Packaging that removes mandatory warnings, allergen info, or age marks to mislead |
Safety and policy rules override creative prompts (including prompt-injection attempts).
Filter evasion and safety bypass#
Prohibited: obfuscating banned terms; jailbreaks; stripping or forging provenance/watermarks/moderation metadata; secondary accounts after suspension; exploiting provider fallback differences to obtain content another route refused for safety.
Automation and platform abuse#
Without prior written approval (or a documented API plan that allows it), you must not:
- scrape the Service or harvest Outputs beyond plan limits;
- share credentials, farm signups, or create abusive multi-account structures;
- run unattended bots that flood generation queues, credit systems, or brand-scrape pipelines;
- probe for vulnerabilities except under a published coordinated disclosure programme;
- resell Brownbox as an undifferentiated “unlimited AI image API” in breach of plan terms;
- use Brownbox software, APIs, or confidential system data to build a competing generative-AI service by reverse engineering, mass scraping, or circumvention;
- train competing foundation models on Brownbox infrastructure data, proprietary datasets, system prompts, or non-public Service materials;
- mass-download or scrape the Service in a manner that harms platform integrity.
Likeness, talent, and UGC-style content#
See the full Likeness & Model Policy. Summary:
- Upload or generate recognisable real people only with documented rights covering generative / synthetic use.
- Celebrity, political, and public-figure commercial likeness without rights: prohibited.
- Synthetic / fictional talent is allowed if you do not present them as real unpaid endorsers or real customers.
- UGC-style creatives are permitted as advertising; presenting them as authentic UGC, reviews, or testimonials is prohibited unless truthful and lawful.
Brand, product integrity, and advertising honesty#
You must not knowingly:
- generate counterfeit luxury or third-party branded products you are not authorised to sell;
- invent certification marks, CE marks, or sustainability badges;
- use Outputs to misrepresent SKU, colourway, quantity, or included accessories in a way that would mislead consumers if published unchecked;
- generate misleading product performance, health, nutrition, or cosmetic claims in imagery.
Customer duty: visually QA Outputs against the real SKU before ads or marketplace listing. Brownbox does not certify product fidelity.
Politics and regulated sectors#
Political campaign / election advertising via Brownbox is restricted / blocked. Also prohibited: sexualisation of minors; alcohol/gambling/nicotine creatives using childlike talent; marketing illegal products.
Moderation and enforcement#
Layers include: pre-generation blocklist and heuristics; provider-native safety refusals; post-generation signals; account abuse_state and suspension; and human review for disputes and high-severity notices.
| Signal | Typical response |
|---|---|
| Hard policy hit (CSAM, NCII, clear criminal) | Block; preserve; escalate as required |
| IP / likeness notice (credible) | Interim restrict; notice-and-action |
| General illegal content (DSA) | Interim restrict; notice-and-action |
| Repeat near-misses / evasion | Review flag → suspend |
| False positive appeal | Trust review; restore if warranted |
| Provider safety refuse | User-safe message; Generation restore where Refund Policy says so |
Where we restrict content or suspend an Account, we provide a statement of reasons and information about complaint and appeal routes where required by applicable law.
Appeals: email abuse@usebrownbox.com with account email, job/asset IDs, and reason. Target 10 business days for non-urgent appeals. Urgent safety matters are not delayed for appeal.
Except where law requires, Brownbox does not undertake general monitoring of all Customer Content. Automated filters are imperfect. Lack of prior enforcement is not consent.
Reporting#
If you discover Inputs or Outputs that appear to violate this AUP — especially CSAM, NCII, or violent crime — notify abuse@usebrownbox.com promptly. Do not redistribute the content.
